Privacy Policy

Time2Go ("we", "our", "the app") is a mobile application that helps you leave on time for appointments. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

What we collect

• Account information: Email address, name, and authentication credentials (password hash or social sign-in tokens from Google/Apple).
• Appointment data: Titles, destinations, times, travel preferences, and notification responses you provide.
• Location data: Your current location (when granted) to calculate travel times, detect departure and arrival via geofencing, and set your starting point.
• Device information: Push notification token and device platform (iOS/Android) for sending reminders.
• Saved locations: Labels and addresses you save for quick access.
• Feedback: Messages you submit through the in-app feedback form.

How we use your data

• Calculate travel times and leave-by times using Google Maps.
• Send push notifications to remind you when to leave.
• Detect departure and arrival using background location (only if you grant "Always Allow").
• Send verification and password reset emails.
• Deliver your feedback to our team via email.
• Recalculate travel times based on live traffic conditions.

Third-party services

• Google Maps Platform: Travel time calculation, route directions, place search, and geocoding. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Expo Push Notifications: Delivers push notifications to your device. Subject to Expo's Privacy Policy.
• Resend: Sends transactional emails (verification codes, password resets, feedback delivery). Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: Authentication only. We receive your name and email, nothing else.

Background location

If you grant "Always Allow" location access, the app uses geofencing to automatically detect when you leave your starting point and arrive at your destination. This allows the app to update your appointment status without you needing to respond to notifications.

You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings. Without it, the app still works but relies on notifications and manual responses to track your status.

Data retention

• Past appointments are automatically deleted after 5 days.
• Your account data is kept as long as your account exists.
• When you delete your account, all your data (appointments, saved locations, feedback, and event data) is permanently removed.

Data security

Your data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences). We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.

Your choices

• You can disable location, notification, or calendar permissions at any time in your device settings.
• You can delete your account from the app (Profile > Delete Account), which removes all your data permanently.
• You can manage notification preferences per appointment from the notification settings screen.

Children

Time2Go is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
